Sometimes a campaign does not begin with a plan but with a feeling that is difficult to put into words. You sense that something is not right or that something could be better, yet the path from that thought to a concrete action remains unclear. This is exactly where the idea of the Campaign Creator begins. It grew out of the wish to make that first step more tangible without prescribing it.
The moment between idea and action
I have often seen how many good ideas emerge in conversations and how rarely they move to the next stage. The problem is not a lack of motivation but a lack of structure, time or the feeling of knowing how to begin. This space between “I want to change something” and “I know what I can do now” is crucial. The Campaign Creator is our attempt to accompany this space. It does not aim to decide what is right, but to help turn a thought into a direction.
Structure as support, not as instruction
We consciously chose not to build rigid processes. Instead we wanted to create a form that offers orientation without limiting people. When someone describes their campaign mission, it is not about finding a perfect wording but about clarifying their own thoughts. The Campaign Creator takes these thoughts and transforms them into suggestions that can be developed further. In this way structure becomes a tool that supports without overshadowing a person’s own path.
The role of artificial intelligence
Our decision to use artificial intelligence was not an end in itself. We were not trying to add something technical for its own sake, but to help people reach a first draft more quickly. The Campaign Creator uses this possibility to develop texts and building blocks from a small amount of input, which can then serve as a starting point. At the same time it is clear to us that these suggestions are not the goal. They are a beginning that needs to be reviewed, adapted and shaped by individual judgement.
Between relief and responsibility
An important question during development was how to offer relief without shifting responsibility. Many people have little time and still want to contribute. If a tool helps them reach clear formulations more quickly, that can be a real support. At the same time it must not lead to an automatic process in which content is adopted without reflection. The Campaign Creator deliberately reminds people that every publication remains a personal decision.
A tool that grows with its users
We do not see the Campaign Creator as a finished solution but as something that evolves together with the people who use it. Every campaign, every piece of feedback and every adjustment contributes to our understanding of how this tool can improve. It is not about representing a single ideal form of activism, but about enabling different paths. The Campaign Creator is meant to be a quiet companion that supports without taking centre stage.
A beginning that remains open
When we reflect on the idea behind the Campaign Creator, we do not see a completed thought but a beginning. It emerged from the observation that engagement often fails because of small barriers that could be overcome. It may change, it may expand or be reimagined. What remains is the intention to support people in taking their own ideas seriously and finding the courage to take the first step.
