We believe that when people want to make a difference, they should have tools which motivate them, and which are fun and easy to use.

That’s exactly why we developed Aktivismo: to quickly turn your idea into an effective campaign – free of charge, uncomplicated and full of joy.

Who we are

We’re Johann and Madeleina, a team of code, design, a shared love for Europe and a strong commitment to building things people actually enjoy using. We’re developing Aktivismo because we’re convinced that civil society thrives when people can actively participate and when the tools for taking action are easy, engaging and inspiring.

And because we think activism isn’t only important, but it can also be human, creative and sometimes delightful fun.

Johann has been committed to democracy and cohesion in Europe for many years, currently working as general secretary of JEF Bavaria (Young European Federalists Bavaria). There, he experiences every day how much people can achieve when they have good structures, clear processes and a community that supports them.

Johann is the founder and developer of Aktivismo. He builds the features that turn “We should…” into “Okay, let’s do it!” His motivation can be summed up quite simply: enabling young people to take action for a better world, with a free platform that provides effective processes for political and social engagement and strengthens democracy, human rights and Europe.

Madeleina Kay (sometimes known as EU Supergirl) is an artist and activist on a mission to make Europe more visible, more relatable and more heartfelt. She blends political engagement with art, music and pop culture – you can feel that energy in everything she creates.

At Aktivismo, Madeleina is our designer, artist and ambassador. She makes sure Aktivismo isn’t just useful, but also feels like a place you want to return to: friendly, motivating and open, with a creative joy that brings people together.

Madeleina is committed to promoting a vibrant civil society, a united Europe and genuine diversity, demonstrating that activism can be creative, warm and unifying.

A new approach to activism

We dream of a world in which every person can become politically or socially active with speed, ease and free of charge. Aktivismo aims to be the ideal platform for this: free, accessible and designed so that you don’t have to fight alone, instead, you can connect with others, learn from each other and make an impact together.

In the future, we see Aktivismo as a friendly and open platform for exchange, and as an app that encourages good deeds through fun and games. An app where new friendships are formed, where people motivate each other, and where organisations (old and new) find playful ways to share ideas and grow together.

In short: fewer hurdles and more impact with a good vibe.

What guides us

Our work is based on clear core beliefs that guide us in every decision we make and determine how we develop and shape Aktivismo, growing together with our community.

Effectiveness: We don’t build features because they’re “nice to have,” but because they help people make a real difference. Aktivismo is designed to help you move from idea to action faster, through clear, meaningful and practical steps.

Openness: We are open to ideas, suggestions and feedback, especially from our community. Aktivismo should grow with the people who use it. And we remain open to innovation: if something makes engagement easier, fairer, or more effective – we take a serious look at it.

Honesty: We want to make it clear what we are developing, why we make decisions, how we handle data, and how (and why) algorithms are used. Trust is not an extra feature, but the basis of Aktivismo.

Looking ahead

Together with our community, we are building Aktivismo step by step – as a toolkit for engagement, a meeting place for ideas and a friendly space where people feel inspired to get involved. With every new version, Aktivismo should become a little clearer, a little more beautiful, a little more helpful and reflect more of what we’re really here for: empowering citizens, connecting individuals and helping them take action.

Our vision is to create a platform for everyone who wants to make a difference in the world, whether as an individual, grassroots group, association, youth organisation or wider movement – for everyone who says, “I don’t want to just stand by and watch.” A platform that motivates people without overwhelming them. That is playful without being superficial. That creates community without being exclusive. And that shows that commitment can start small and grow bigger when you work together.
